Veere Di Wedding Box-Office Collection, Day 1: BFF Brigade Exceeds Trade Expectations; Earns Rs 10.7 Cr

Veere Di Wedding, featuring Kareena Kapoor, Sonam Kapoor, Swara Bhasker and Shikha Talsania is being applauded by one and all. The film which is based on the friendship of four friends opened to a great number at the box-office. Veeres have been getting tremendous response from masses and critics. Not just that, Day 1 at the box-office has also turned out to be pleasant for the makers. Produced by Rhea Kapoor and Ekta Kapoor, the film has earned Rs 10.7 cr.

Trade analyst, Taran Adarsh shared the number on social media. His tweet read, “#VeereDiWedding has a WINNING START on Day 1... Makes its way into the TOP 5 OPENERS of 2018... Expected to build up a SOLID TOTAL over the weekend... Fri ₹ 10.70 cr. India biz.”

Interestingly, the trade was expecting a much lower figure for the opening of Ekta's BFF drama. Film trade analyst Girish Johar had predicted that Veere Di Wedding would get an opening around Rs 4.5 crore. “We have seen how Bollywood fans are now receptive to female-centric films like Raazi, Queen or Padmaavat for that matter. As long as good content is involved, the film is bound to do good. From the looks of it, the film is a fun, rib-tickling comedy and it will cater to an audience just looking to have a good time at the theatres,” he had said.

An elated producer of the fillm, Ekta Kapoor took to social media and wrote, “We have just got d nos hot out of the oven! The all india box office total for #VeerediWedding is 10.70crores on day one!!!”

She further stated, “I wanted to tweet d nos myself even before d official release as it’s been a struggle convincing ppl that films r gender agnostic! Picture sirf teen cheezo ke vajah se chalti hai entertainment entertainment aur entertainment !!! Rheaaaa ruchikaaaa this one is urs"

Talking about the film, SpotboyE.com Editor, Vickey Lalwani rated the movie with 4 stars and said, “If I haven't said it all in my title, then here is exactly what I felt about the film. As the firebrand four say it often in their lines, let me also say it in context of the makers: It needs balls to make such a film. I am not a sucker for films where the F word is used, but here its usage (mind you, frequent)  did not make me cringe even a wee bit. It just goes with the flow, it's required, in fact, many times you say it under your breath even before Kareena Kapoor, Sonam Kapoor, Swara Bhaskar or Shikha Talsani utter it.”
